2010-2011 Global Undergraduate Exchange Program for Pakistan

The Global Undergraduate Exchange Program for Pakistan (Global UGRAD-Pakistan) is a program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) of the United States Department of State, and administered by IREX. Global UGRAD–Pakistan will provide full-time undergraduate students from Pakistan with the opportunity to enrich their education and experience through one semester of full-time, non-degree academic study in the United States. The program will also expose fellows to the principles of social responsibility in the United States through a community service component.

Grant Benefits
This is a fully funded program. The grant will fund international travel, domestic travel and ground transportation, tuition, housing and health insurance.
Program Requirements
Complete one academic semester of full-time, non-degree study, maintaining a grade point average of 2.0;
Attend pre-departure orientation and post-program briefing session in Pakistan, and welcome orientation in Washington, DC;
Actively participate in the Global UGRAD-Pakistan Cultural Ambassadors Passport to America program by exploring various aspects of American culture and reflecting on your experiences;
Perform a minimum of 20 hours of community service during the course of the Global UGRAD–Pakistan Program;
Give one presentation about your home country during the course of the Global UGRAD–Pakistan Program;
Submit community service plans, transcript, mid-term progress reports, and final report by Global UGRAD–Pakistan Program deadlines;
Sign and submit to IREX the Academic Release Form to enable IREX to contact your university on your behalf regarding grades, medical forms, bills, etc; and
Sign and submit to IREX the Photo Release Form, giving IREX and the U.S. Department of State the right to take and/or use photographs and/or video of you in connection with the Global UGRAD–Pakistan program. Photographs may be used in ways including program materials, publicity, reports, and Web content.
