The
summer months are always busy with arranging the
departures of grantees in all our programs. This
year in addition to the usual Fulbright Degree
Program grantees, Humphrey grantees, and Fulbright
Scholars, USEFP successfully sent off all the 50
Global UGRAD participants who are starting their
semester in the U.S. this fall. A second batch of
UGRAD grantees will be going in the spring
semester. Of the 59 Community College Program
participants scheduled to start this fall, 57 have
already departed. All in all, USEFP has sent off
275 participants of various programs this summer.
We take pride in sharing the news that not only
will we be doubling the number of undergraduate
grantees travelling under Global UGAD program from
100 to 200, but we will also be launching brand
new programs for Journalists and Public
Administration Professionals in the coming year.
The summer has also been busy with the selection
of the new cohort of Fulbright Masters and PhD
grantees, Humphrey Fellows and Foreign Language
Teaching Assistants. The results of the selection
will be announced in October. We continue to
welcome back our returning grantees and look
forward to their enthusiastic participation in our
alumni programs. Hats off to two of our Alumni -
Dr. Muhammad Rasul for receiving ‘Pride of
Performance Award’ and Dr. Zaffar Mohammad for
receiving ‘Sitara-e-Imtiaz’. USEFP heartily
congratulates both the professors.
